The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently checking out the Fernie 2 Neighborhood Hall in Mpuluzi to render companies on the community.

SASSA will be rendering services which include new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer treatment enquiries, in addition to the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a press release, the agency explained it is alarmed regarding the significant number of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The goal on the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to the large amount of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This is often as a result of lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no absolutely functional office dedicated to service the area each day. The assistance point produced for intervention encounters a large influx of prospective beneficiaries, which makes it hard for that Workplace to attend to all people who check out a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise additional methods to help the servicing of all status sassa prospects and maximize usage of Social Assistance products and services,” the agency said.
